Everything you need to know to ensure happy, safe adventures for your pets and peace of mind for you.
These policies are in place to protect the safety and wellbeing of your pets and to ensure we can always provide the best possible service. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
During our meet and greet I would love to get to know your dog, their personality and all their quirks. Please let me know if there is any favourite walk routes or toys. Please let me know if you have any concerns or know of anything that makes your dog feel unhappy or uncomfortable and I will work to assist with this to ensure they always feel safe and comfortable.
Please be aware I only walk dogs off lead with your permission (this will need to be signed for on your details form) — however I will still only do this once I feel I have built a bond with them and their recall is good.
For safety and legal reasons, all dogs must wear a secure collar with a visible ID tag at all times during walks. The tag should include your surname, address, and contact number (as required by UK law).
In extreme weather (very hot, cold, or stormy conditions), walks may be shortened, route altered or rescheduled for your dog's wellbeing. We'll always communicate with you if this is the case.
All bookings must be paid in full at least 24 hours before the scheduled booking. For bookings made more than two months in advance, I do require a 50% deposit to secure the slot, with the remaining balance due 24 hours before the first booking date.
Please be aware that due to high demand I am unable to hold slots for any more than 48 hours. After this time, the dates will be released back onto the calendar.
Payments not received within this timeframe may result in your booking being cancelled or paused and the service slot offered to another client. Continued late payment may lead to loss of service until payments are up to date.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled booking may result in the loss of the payment made for that booking, as time has already been allocated for your pet. Cancellations made with more than 24 hours notice will be credited or rescheduled at no extra cost. I understand that life can be unpredictable — in the event of an emergency, please contact me as soon as possible and I will always do my best to be understanding and flexible where genuine emergencies occur.
On warmer days where the temperature is still hot but remains below my safety threshold, safety precautions will still always be taken. Fresh water will always be carried and offered frequently throughout all walks, shade-first routes will be prioritised, and high energy activities such as ball throwing and running will be restricted to prevent over-exertion. If appropriate for your dog, I may also encourage supervised swims or paddling (often I will get in and paddle with them!) — please note this will only be done with your prior signed consent.
At this temperature, the risk of heat stroke and burnt paws is significantly high. To ensure the safety and well-being of your pets, any scheduled walks where the temperature is 24°C or above will be altered, replaced or cancelled. This may be through garden visits (lots of people set up doggy pools!), indoor play, enrichment activities, etc.
Please understand that these decisions are made with the utmost kindness and care for your pet. Walk moderations or cancellations are at my sole discretion. A walk is never worth the risk of heatstroke or physical injury. My priority is returning your pet to you happy, hydrated and healthy. I will always aim to give you as much notice as possible if a walk or visit needs to be adjusted due to the forecast.
While I am not a professional trainer and don't provide any formal training, I am always happy to support your dog's existing positive reinforcement plan. I believe that connection is more important than compliance — my goal is to be a trusted friend for your dog and someone they have fun with.
Of course, safety first is a must and will always ensure reliable recall and gentle encouragement of waiting at roads before crossing, but really my heart is in prioritising your dog's emotional and physical comfort and making sure they feel understood and supported every step of the way.
The safety and wellbeing of all pets in my care as well as my own safety is always the top priority. While I believe every animal deserves love, patience, and understanding, I must also ensure that all bookings and walks are safe and enjoyable for everyone involved.
For this reason, I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service if an animal shows signs of aggression, poses a risk to myself, other animals, or members of the public, or behaves in a way that could compromise safety during a walk. If any concerns arise, I will always discuss them with you first and aim to find a suitable solution, such as solo walks, behaviour support, or re-assessment at a later time.
